Dear Supporter

We’ve kicked off 2008 with the huge success of our 4th annual Butterfly Bootcamp heralding a big year ahead for the team. Bootcamp is always a memorable experience. I was honoured to share in the tears and laughter during the various sessions with the Big and Little Sisters. Over 4 days and a jam-packed program, we bonded and despite the exhaustion, we were overwhelmed with excitement and did not want it to end. Many thanks to all of the wonderful people who not only worked tirelessly at the camp to make sure it ran smoothly, but also spent countless hours working in the lead up to this very big event. A special thanks to Syd Sallivan for her superb organisational skills.

This year, we are very proud to have 52 Little Sisters in the SISTER2sister Program. By the end of Bootcamp, these amazing girls were already blossoming into beautiful Butterflies. I’m proud of each and every one of them for their strength, their resilience and for being brave enough to get out of their comfort zone to embrace the program.

Our Little Sisters were thrilled to have a special visit from sisters, Nicky Moore and Natalie Bassingthwaighte, who will be launching their book “Sistahood” in April this year. These two very talented sisters are kindly donating a portion of the royalties from book sales to The SISTER2sister Program. They are very keen to raise awareness for our Foundation. This will ultimately help in our efforts to raise necessary funds to rollout The Sister2sister Program nationally.

2008 will also see the Foundation bask in the limelight thanks to 60 Minutes producing a segment on the SISTER2sister Program. We expect the segment to air sometime in the next couple of months. Please check your emails for the announcement of the actual date.

Our SASSI teams are expanding! SASSI Team 3 is already busy coordinating the fundraising events for the year. Watch out for the launch of an exciting range of SASSI products that will soon be available for purchase. The biggest project for the year will be our annual fundraising highlight “The Life Changing Ball - A Carnivale Experience” to be held at the Hilton Hotel on the 14th of June.

We are also committed to creating ongoing partnerships with our current Corporate Butterfly Sponsors. Our increasing number of Corporate Partners allows us to provide the best support we can for all the Little and Big Sisters in the program.

I have no doubt that we will exceed all the expectations and targets that we have set for this year and I look forward to sharing with you our accomplishments and wins for 2008.

As always, our deepest gratitude to all of you for your ongoing support.
