2008 Life Changing Ball
A Carnivale Experience
The 2008 Life Changing Ball held on Saturday 14th June at the Hilton in Sydney proved to be yet another amazing experience for all involved. Over 300 guests were entertained by the comedic prowess of Julia Morris as MC and thrilled by breathtaking performances of the aerial artists from Aerialize. An uplifting performance by Amy Pearson, the voice of the Olympic Games and supporter of SISTER2sister was followed by Casanova’s Kiss who closed the evening filling the dance floor.
Jessica Brown, CEO & Founder of Life Changing Experiences Foundation overviewed the program and objectives for the future and highlighted the many ways corporate and individuals can aid the Foundation to continue the SISTER2sister program and its plans for national expansion. Other presentations included an on-stage interview by Jacinta Tynan, SkyNews reader and Butterfly Patron who discussed the role of a Big Sister with Paulette Maroun. Following this, Kylie Humphreys, a graduate from the 2006 SISTER2sister Program, presented her experiences on being a Little Sister and amazing achievements since graduating. There was also a special recorded message from the foundation ambassadors, sisters Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Nicky Moore encouraging guests to “dig deep” to support the SISTER2sister Program financially.
The 2008 Life Changing Ball’s objectives were to raise funds for the SISTER2sister program and raise the Foundation’s profile while highlighting the genuine need of teenagers in our community.
The Live Auction, presented by Damien Cooley of Cooley Auctions, included a Hayman Island Holiday, a Mont Blanc watch, 3 original artworks by Tanya Loviz, and an Audi A4 from Alto Group Artarmon.
Over 100 quality items were donated for the Silent Auction from private and corporate contributors where over $21,000 was raised for the Foundation. Items included tickets to the 2009 season finale of “So you think you can dance”, Holidays, Artworks by Ken Done and Ajay Rochester, Gym memberships, Photography sessions, a Boche washing machine and many, many more.
