Mentor for a Day program

Objective

  • To engage Little Sisters on the waiting list for the next program involved in advance
  • To engage corporate volunteers to spend their corporate volunteer day experiencing the benefits of mentoring an at risk teenage girl
  • To get to know the incoming Little Sisters in order to match them with their big sister mentors

Criteria

  • Mentors are required to fill in the Working With Children Volunteer Check form
  • Mentor participation costs $40 per mentor
  • Corporate staff participants are encouraged to put together a "workshop" around educational criteria as part of the program. Topics to date have included: Internet Safety for teens; Understanding various positions within an organisation; Healthy skincare; Budgeting among others.
